TOUR MONTE PELLER

TOUR MONTE PELLER

This is one of the most scenic itineraries thanks to the numerous environments it crosses: from the dense and shady fir woods of Val di Sole to the warmer and drier areas, rich in broadleaf trees, of the southern slope of Monte Peller, from the vast meadows of Verdè to the equally vast high mountain prairies of Passo Forcola. A sunny itinerary, ideal in the early summer months for the rich variety of flowers to be found.

Itinerary:

Departure from the bicycle path near the bridge over the Noce river in the locality of Molini di Malè (the renovated sawmill is visible). Follow the bicycle path along the Noce river up to Molini di Terzolas. From here you take an uphill forest road that for about 10 km in the dense forest climbs more than 1000 meters in altitude. After the last flat stretch you reach Passo le Fraìne - 1.712 m and you take the road to Rifugio Peller. The road, with some variations of slope, enters the wide alpine prairies until the Durigal Lake of karst origin. Here, continuing to the right, you arrive at the visible Rifugio Peller (1.923 m). Continuing to the left, a very steep ascent leads to the south-facing slopes of Monte Peller in the direction of Malga Tassulla and the Val di Tovel below, which extends for 12 km to the lake of the same name at an altitude of 1.178 m, due to a landslide dam on a glacial basin. At this point the panorama is vast over the succession of valleys as far as the mountains and snow-capped peaks of Austria. You then reach the Bivacco G. Pinamonti (Malga Tassulla) - 2,090 m - where the road ends in front of the wide valley of Pian della Nana. In this valley some alpine paths lead to the heart of the Brenta group; take the SAT path n. 336 on the right which, halfway up the mountainside, shortly leads to the visible Passo della Forcola (2.106 m) watershed between Val di Non and Val di Sole. From here a steep descent leads to the beautiful Salare lake. Again downhill to the Malga Selva di Croviana. If you pay attention on the right of the malga on a hill there is a small church. Here the view of the peaks of the valley is very impressive. Resume the descent and after several hairpin bends you reach the bottom of the valley in Molini di Croviana. Just past the bridge over the walnut tree, on the right we take the Val di Sole bike path that brings us back to Malè.
